Catriona McLaughlin

Catriona is a German-American media professional and is based in Hamburg, Germany.

At DIE ZEIT, she advises the CEO and manages publishing projects with a focus on digital development.

Before, she has worked with Egmont Publishing Group, where she was responsible for the Marketing and development of the Disney Websites. After University, Catriona joined EMI Music Group for the area of Change Management and Business Processes. Here, she was responsible for programs at the EMI Digital Academy as well as Online Artist representation. 

Catriona holds a German University degree (comparable to Master’s degree) in Social and Business Communication from the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK). She also studied Media Arts and Production at UT Sydney, Australia, as well as German-French Law at Potsdam University.

Catriona is a Member of Think Tank 30 Germany of the Club of Rome (www.tt30.de) and Member of the Young Leaders Program of Atlantik-Brücke e.V. (www.atlantik-bruecke.org) She is Co-Author of the Book Humans as Brands.

Heiko Roehl

geb. 1967, beschäftigt sich mit zukunftsorientierter Veränderung von und in Organisationen. Er studierte Psychologie, Soziologie und Betriebswirtschaft in Berlin und Bologna und arbeitete viele Jahre in der Zukunftsforschung Society and Technology Research Group von DaimlerChrysler in Palo Alto und Berlin. Von 2002-2006 baute er im Auftrag der Bundesregierung die Nelson Mandela Foundation in Johannesburg/Südafrika auf. Heute leitet er die Unternehmensorganisation der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit GmbH. Dr. Heiko Roehl ist außerdem leitender Redakteur der Zeitschrift für Organisationsentwicklung und Autor zahlreicher Publikationen im Themenkreis Veränderungsmanagement, etwa „Organisationen des Wissens“ (2002, Klett-Cotta) , zuletzt: „Mapping Dialogue: Essential Tools for Social Change“ (2007, Taos Publishing).

Sofia is…

Sofia’s Background I have a Masters in Chemical Engineering from Imperial College, London. I started my career at British Airways, where I moved from systems analysis and project management to learning and facilitation. I then left BA to move more fully into people and organisational development, and, after a number of small roles across various industries, have run a business as a coach, facilitator and change agent since 2005. I have a balance of analytical and intuitive skills and experience, straddling engineering and business analysis, to personal and team development.

I am a change agent and have gone through my own journey towards the work that reflects my core identity. I am living proof that a big change in career is not only possible but worthwhile! I have created a life where my work is fully aligned with my core purpose. You can see how my work evolves in line with my own personal evolution. And that the journey continues. You can see how the deeper motivation for my work is intricately linked to my earliest challenges. Each part of my journey has contributed to achieving my deepest longing and my business offering (creating healthy community) is based on this.

„In der ersten Klasse malte das Flüchtlingskind Ibrahim Totenköpfe und blutverschmierte Menschen, die Blumenbilder seiner Mitschüler verstand er nicht. Zwei Psychologen erklärten den Jungen zu einem Fall für die Sonderschule. Dort blieb er bis zur fünften Klasse. Nur einen Betreuer gab es, der sagte: »Du gehörst nicht hierher, Junge.« Und er erkämpfte für Ibrahim Ismail einen Platz auf der Hauptschule, gegen den Widerstand des Schuldirektors. Der gab dem Schüler zum Abschied vor lauter Herablassung nicht mal die Hand: »Du musst dich nicht verabschieden, in einer Woche bist du sowieso wieder hier.« Er irrte sich. Ibrahim Ismail wurde Klassenbester. Als er die Hauptschule verließ, wollte er Schreiner werden. »Du machst Abitur«, sagte sein Klassenlehrer.  „Ibrahim Ismail studierte Sportwissenschaft an der Ruhr-Universität. Schon während seines Studiums arbeitete er als Sportpädagoge mit benachteiligten Jugendlichen. Für seine Diplomarbeit „Streetwork im sozialen Brennpunkt – Perspektiven einer zeitgemäßen Sozialarbeit“ erhielt er 2008 den Universitätspreis des Rotary Clubs Bochum-Hellweg. Heute koordiniert er das daraus hervorgegangene Projekt „Rückenwind“, ist Vorstandsvorsitzender der Bildungseinrichtung Paidaia e.V. und arbeitet als Sportlehrer am Berufskolleg Opladen. „ Ruhr-Universität Bochum Alumni 15.7.2009

„Ismail: Jetzt bin ich Lehrer am Berufskolleg Opladen. Dort gebe ich viel Unterricht zur Persönlichkeitsbildung. Außerdem habe ich jetzt auch einen Lehrauftrag an der Sportfakultät der Ruhr Universität Bochum. Meine Diplom-Arbeit habe ich weiterentwickelt zum Konzept „Rückenwind“. Gemeinsam mit vielen Mitstreitern der sportwissenschaftlichen Fakultät und weiteren Personen aus den Bereichen der Pädagogik, der freien Wirtschaft sowie dem Justiz- und Kulturwesen haben wir den Paidaia e.V. gegründet (paidaia, griech. Bildung, Erziehung, Anm. d.
